Who Elder is

Elder is a care provider focused on delivering high-quality live-in care at home.

At Elder, we support older adults and people with care needs who want to remain in familiar surroundings rather than move into a care home.

Elder operates across the UK and works with professional carers to provide consistent, regulated care that is tailored to each individual’s needs.

What Elder does

Elder provides the following care services:

  • Live-in care: Full-time care provided in a person’s own home by a dedicated carer.
  • Dementia care: Specialist support for people living with dementia, delivered in familiar surroundings.
  • Respite care: Short-term care at home to support families and unpaid carers.
  • Post-hospital discharge care: Support at home following illness, injury, or a hospital stay.
  • Visiting care: Flexible support at home with a carer visiting at scheduled times.

Each service is designed to support independence, safety, and wellbeing at home.

5,000+ FAMILIES

Care that feels like family, arranged by you

"To me, what makes Elder different is their professionalism. They just seem to be a little bit more caring than some of the others."
– Sharon, Sheila's daughter, Elder customer

For many families, the idea of arranging care can feel overwhelming. Elder exists to make that process simpler, more transparent, and far less lonely.

We've helped thousands of families across the UK find carers they genuinely trust – people who fit into daily life, not just fill a rota.

From the first conversation to the first day of care, we're with you at every step – helping you find the right person, giving you the tools to manage things confidently, and making sure you never feel like you're doing it alone.

THE FOUNDER'S STORY

Built from a personal experience of care

Elder was founded because its founder lived through the same challenge so many families face – trying to find trustworthy, consistent, personal care at home for someone they loved, and not knowing where to start.

The experience was fragmented, confusing, and often impersonal. Pete believed there had to be a better way – one that kept families in control, gave carers fair and flexible work, and brought real transparency to a sector that desperately needed it.

What started as a personal mission has grown into a platform trusted by thousands of families. But the purpose hasn’t changed: to make arranging care at home simpler, safer, and more human.

How Elder’s care works

Elder’s care model is based on live-in care at home and follows a clear process:

  1. Care needs are discussed to understand the level and type of support required.
  2. A suitable live-in carer is matched based on experience, skills, and preferences.
  3. Care is provided in the person’s home, with the carer living on site.
  4. Support is reviewed regularly and adapted as needs change.

This approach allows people to receive consistent, one-to-one care while remaining in their own home.

Elder’s mission and values

Elder’s mission is to help people live well at home for longer. At Elder, we are guided by values that include:

  • Respect for dignity and independence
  • Person-centred care
  • Transparency and trust
  • Support for families as well as individuals

JOBS AT ELDER

Join us as we change perceptions, and transform lives

We’re a close knit community dedicated to making a difference to the lives of older people. Some of us have personal connections to care – having gone through the journey with our own loved ones. Some have been inspired by a carer or nurse within their own family, while others have come from a nursing background themselves.

Today, we all share one crucial mission – to reinvent what it means to age. This means asking ourselves, ‘what care would we want for our own loved ones?’, and seek excellence to promote better care, better understanding, and better opportunities for change.

But we can’t do this alone. Whether you’d like to care for an older person, or want to help us tackle one of society’s biggest challenges behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you.
